先日、娘が通う小学校のマラソン大会があり、娘は中学年女子の部で１位でした。
娘はマラソン大会に向けて、日頃から私と一緒に走っていたので、その成果が出て本当に良かったと思いました。
私も休暇を取り応援に行き、実際に走っている姿や１位でゴールする瞬間が見れたので、とても嬉しかったです。私の姿を見つけると笑顔で手を振ってくれたので“案外、余裕そうだな！！”と思いましたが・・・（苦笑）
娘が小学校から帰って来るや否やすぐに“おめでとう！よく頑張ったね”と褒めてあげると嬉しそうにしていました。
ただここで１つ気を付けなければならないことがあります。
それはご褒美としてお小遣いやプレゼントを買ってあげることで、アンダーマイニング効果※になってしまうことです。
※アンダーマイニング効果とは、好奇心や喜びなど内発的動機付けを元に行なったこが、評価されて昇給したりご褒美をもらえたりするなど外発的動機付けされることで、いつの間にかやる気がなくなるなどの内発的な行動に対するモチベーションが下がってしまうことです。
親としてはついついご褒美を上げたくなってしまうところですが、そこは親としても我慢することが重要です。
自分の子供が頑張っている姿は親にとっては輝かしく見えるものです。
そして私は娘が頑張っている姿に勇気やモチベーションをもらっています。
それが走るモチベーションに繋がっています。
